Getting into the News on the WordPress.com homepage

  How does one’s blog posts show up on the WordPress.com homepage? What can you do to make them appear there? Because mine don’t seem to.

  And how does WordPress.com know which category (Politics, Tech, Religion) a post fits into?

  Your blog post will only ever show up there if it’s using that category. And to show up in News, your post has to be more popular than all the posts on all the CNN, Fortune, and other news site blogs.

  I guess mine will never show up, then. ;)

  Seems odd, though; many’s the time I’ve seen insignificant personal blogs and things shown on the home page, even though, often, they don’t appear to be all that popular.

  Then that would be because the guys at WP.com fiddled something. I’ll have to get compromising photos of them or something…
