getting items to display on sidebar

I am just starting to use Karuna Theme . I cannot get either custom menu widgets , or menu items , or pages to appear on the blog . Also I cannot find a way to add an Admin login tab , for re-entering after sign off .
How to get page like clickable links t appear on the sidebar ?
