Getting landing page to be home page in blog style

    Hi,

As you’ll see when you go to my site the front page is a posts page. What I actually want is for my home page to be the front page AND the posts page.

Is there a way to do that? In my current reading settings, I have the home page set to be posts and the posts page set to be home. This gives me the home page I want, but does not make the home page the front page as well. I think I’m just missing some part of the logic.

    How can I accomplish this?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are two choices and only two choices.

    (1) Posts on the front page
By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors, who come to read your latest post, and who are not likely to be happy with being compelled to click through the same static page with the same blah, blah, blah on it every time they visit the blog looking for the latest post.

    (2) Static front page
However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts. To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

Ok. So there is no way to do what I am talking about?

The way you are talking about it isn’t clear. How can something be both a static front page AND a dynamic posts page? Specifically, exactly, what do you want on the page? Can you give us a link to an example?

I want the first page you land on:

    http://bobbyfingeroth.wordpress.com

…to be what is currently the “Home” page:

http://bobbyfingeroth.wordpress.com/about/ (I don’t know why it says about at the end but this is the home page.)

I would then like the home page to stay as is, meaning if you try clicking on home after you get to it as a landing page, the page doesn’t change.

    Make sense?
