Getting links to recent posts to show up

What is a block? How do I make my website appear in blog format? How do I get my recent posts to show up as links on my start page? How can I find the URL to each post, so I can manually write html links to other posts?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi @frankenhaole,

A block is a building piece of your page or post — like a LEGO brick for your website. Each type of content is a block:

    • A paragraph is a block.
    • An image is a block.
    • A video, button, heading, or even a quote — all are blocks!

You just stack them together to create your page or blog post.

I’ve also checked your homepage settings, and it’s already configured to automatically display all the posts you create.

To find the URL of each post, you can follow the steps outlined here: How to copy the URL for a page or post

Since you’re just getting started with your blog, I recommend reviewing this support guide: Five-step blog setup

It also includes a helpful video at the end to walk you through the setup process.

Lastly, since you’re on a paid plan, we encourage you to reach out to us through the private support channel rather than the public forums. Paid plan customers receive priority  24/7 support from our Happiness Engineers.

But it is not showing all the posts I’ve made, it’s only showing one, and it’s not the most recent one. Only one post shows up when you load the page. I published a post called The OV Stalker, and it can’t be seen, unless I click on those two little lines in the upper left corner, which brings up a menu of links, which allows me to go to that post. But that is no way to present my content to the public, people should be easily capable of seeing my content immediately.

    Hi @frankenhaole,

I understand that your latest post titled “The OV Stalker” isn’t appearing on your homepage. I reviewed the content in your dashboard and couldn’t find it listed under Posts. However, I did find it under the Pages section.

To have it appear on your homepage like a regular blog post, you’ll need to convert it from a page to a post. You can follow the steps outlined here:
Convert a post to a page or vice versa

I also noticed you created a “Test Post,” which is currently visible on your homepage. Once you convert “The OV Stalker” into a post, it should appear there as well.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

How do I enable comments on my website? stalkerjournal.com

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi @frankenhaole,

I can see that comments are already enabled on your individual posts, which is the standard setup on WordPress.com.

This is because comments are tied to a single post or page, so readers can respond to the content directly and the conversation stays organized.

The blog page where all post are displayed is using a Query Loop Block, which is designed to list multiple posts. It doesn’t display a comment form for each post on that page — otherwise, all the comments would attach to the blog page itself and quickly become confusing.

Best practice: keep the comment form on the individual post pages (as you already have it). Visitors can click the post title or “Read more” link from the blog page, and then leave a comment directly on that post.

If you’d like a general comment box on the blog page itself, you could add a Comment Block there, but please note that all comments would be tied to that one blog page (not to individual posts).

Here’s a guide you might find helpful:
    Enable and Manage Comments

Let me know if that helps.

I have a banner image on my website now, but it is floating over the space that used to contain a much larger image, instead of just replacing that image. I did have this current banner image within that blank image space in the background, but it didn’t show the whole image , it blew it up and chopped off the ends. How do I have this banner image alone, instead of that background blank appearing?

  • @stalkerjournal, would you mind sharing a screenshot here with us? I’m looking at your https://stalkerjournal.com/ and I can’t see this anymore. The only banner image I see is the one on your sidebar, added using the site editor.

Can you confirm if this is the one you’re referring to? Thank you. :)
