Getting my blog photo to show up in Tags page instead of my blog icon

  Hi. I have a couple blogs with WordPress and they tend to do different things, which confuses me. But the thing that perplexes me most is why one blog will post the first image on my blog article under the Tags page but another one will only post the blog Icon? A blog icon is BORING and won’t drive traffic to my blog. I want my article’s image to show up when someone hits the relevant tag in WordPress.com! Does this have anything to do with the format I am choosing for each blog article?
