Getting my brain SPUN by the SPUN theme. Web-verification help
-
Dear WordPress Forum,
For the past SEVERAL weeks I’ve been trying to verify my site with google webmaster tools and analytics and after about 60 tries, I’m giving up. It has driven me to drink and I surrender to you! :)
I’m currently using the spun theme which is starting to feel so limiting… Can I even add it? I hate not having the plugin freedom—
I have tried the recommended methods of verification, the alternative methods, given up and tried coming back to it later, and restarted my browser, updated the tracking code. etc NOTHING WORKS
The error message I get is: We weren’t able to verify your site: (web address)
Can someone please also direct me to where I should add the code, if I, in fact can utilize this amazing resource….
Thank you guys– SO MUCH.
My site is http://www.gypseafree.comThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Angelina,
Sounds like you’re having a hard time with this, let me see if I can help :)
Let’s start with Google Webmaster Tools, have you tried going to the Tools page from within your website’s admin dashboard? You can find it on the left sidebar once logged into the admin section of your site under “Tools > Available Tools”, you should see a box where you can add your Webmaster Tools verification code. You can visit this page for more information:
WordPress.com – Webmaster Tools SupportAs for Google Analytics, that service cannot be used on WordPress.com blogs at this time, instead there’s a built in system for statistics. Again, from within your website’s admin dashboard, from the left sidebar choose “Dashboard > Site Stats”. There’s more information about this feature here:
WordPress.com – StatsI hope this helps,
Colt
