Getting my domain name back

    Hi there,

    I need assistance with getting my domain name, http://www.honestlyalexandra.com back. I deleted my wordpress Premium account last week, as I already was getting hosting through Hostgator.com (I’m new to the blogging thing and was very confused). After speaking with one of your developers who suggested deleting everything through you and using hostgator ONLY, I did that. However, I then learned that I also deleted my domain name which I actually wanted to keep. I know that domain names when deleted aren’t available for 60 days. I would really like to get my domain name back as it was only just deleted a few days ago and I’m really hoping wordpress can help me with this. So far, I have paid a service through Geometric Box who claims they are your third party developers, and they haven’t been returning my calls or assisting me with this in any way. If someone can get back to me from WordPress as soon as possible that would be great.

    Cancelling domains
    It is important to know that cancelled domains are not released by the registrar immediately. Also note that here’s no guarantee you’ll be able to use a domain again as it may be sold to someone else. Therefore you should cancel a domain, if and only if, you are sure you do not wish to use it again.

    I’ve tagged this thread in the sidebar with modlook for Staff attention.
    If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.
    If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

    Also note that this is a public support forum available to all with internet access and Staff will remove your phone number from this thread.

    Hi honestlyalexandra,

    I would really like to get my domain name back as it was only just deleted a few days ago and I’m really hoping wordpress can help me with this.

    Domain cancelled shortly after purchase are released in just a few days. The 60 days you mentioned is for expired domains and the process often takes longer than this.

    I checked today and honestlyalexandra.com is available again. If you want to use it I recommend buying it as soon as you can. You can register the domain through any company you like, although if you already hosting with HostGator it might be easier to keep everything in one place there.
