Getting my EEP/Transfer code from WordPress
-
Hey guys, I got domain mapping through the dashboard upgrade but have just purchased hosting on Hostazar so I can transfer my blog to monetize etc. I’ve pointed the blog at their servers and also uploaded WP.org without a hitch.
Anyway, the hosts are asking me for my EEP/Transfer code and I’ve searched and search to no avail.
Any ideas on how I can get it?
Thanks guys in advance.

Probably not something we have here, since I’ve never heard of it. Check the FAQ on transferring your blog.
Also – if you bought your domain through WP.COM, be aware of the 60 day rule on transfers

Thanks for the reply, I can’t find anything anywhere and the hosting company are asking for it. :(
What is the 60 day rule?

I think the EEP/Transfer thing and the 60 day rule are related, which is why I pointed you to the FAQ IF you purchased your domain through WordPress.COM. You cannot transfer a domain for 60 days after purchase. It all in the FAQ under Domain management

Oh ok, thanks Vivian :) I bought it in March, so should be ok. I’ll keep hunting. Thanks again. :)

Thanks for the link and help, although nothing fruitful I’m afraid. I’ve exported the old WP.com blog and in the process of FTPing it now…fingers crossed. :)
