getting my friends to my website

  When I email the link of my new website to my friends, it won’t activate when it’s clicked on. How come? How do I fix this? (Links within the blog are fine.) I’m talking about just getting them to my website. How can I do this? They’re not emailing the site. Just trying to let known friends click on the website address, to get to my blog. They’re not emailing it, I’m not sending an email address, just my website.
