Getting My Old Font Back
-
I used to have the same fonts as the ones in these blogs:
https://emilycontois.com/about/
https://petescully.com/However, I’m convinced my theme developers have removed this font. I have tried using different ones but I just don’t like them as much as the old one. Does anyone know how I can get it back please?
I went to my CSS and put this in:
span {
font-weight: 100
}
I then got the font I wanted. However, when I save and come out of ‘customization’ there are no changes.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, the first site you reference as example is using the default theme font for both headings and base text. The second is using Oswald regular, normal size for headings and then the default font for the base text.
In general, when you have the WordPress.com Premium Plan upgrade or Custom Design, I would recommend against using span tags within the post/pages to change colors or set font or font weight unless you are just wanting to set a color for a few specific blocks of text. If you change themes, it can possibly cause you a lot of work to go back in and remove those because they don’t fit with the new theme.
With the Source Sans Pro font that have a bunch of font weights from extra light to extra bold built into them, the individual weights will typically not have the necessary hinting built into each of the weights to allow you to adjust it with a font-weight declaration in CSS. Some fonts will have several sets of hinting built into them if they just have a single weight. It just all depends on the font.
I would suggest going back to the default font on the Base Text font if you are wanting a font with a thin stroke.

Thank you sooo much. I didn’t realise I have to click on the ‘X’ in the font bit, fot it to go back. It’s all fine now. Thanks again!
