Getting My own Domain name and Using Dashboard after that

  I would like to register my desired domain name , can i access the dashboard and publish new posts after that

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can register you own domain and still access your dashboard. Creating your own domain will be a paid upgrade of $18.00 per year per blog.

  Once you register your new domain, your old address will still work, but all traffic will be redirected to your new one.

  Well, no. Traffic is not redirected from the old URL to the new one unless you take the extra step of setting the new one primary. The custom domain upgrade is $5 a year. Domain mapping, to connect the domain to the blog, is $13 a year.

  Buying a custom domain changes nothing but the domain. You still have exactly the same dashboard, options, and limitations as before, you just have both a whatever.wordpress.com URL and a whatever.com URL that both work.
