Hello there,
The good news is that the new domain URL is resolving for me when I click your username which is linked to the wordpress.com root blog. However, I do want you to be aware that it can take up to 72 hours for all the changes to take place throughout the internet so please be patient as there will be some fluctuations. :) -
So until the changes take place it will just show up as my old website still? Thanks for your help!

To some the new domain URL will appear in their upper broswer bar immediately. To others in other locations the .wordpress.URl will show and then change to the domain URL until all the changes take place all throughout the internet. When the process is done only the domain URL will display in the upper browser bar beardless if the readers use the .wordpress.com one or not. This is NOT instant. It takes time. All is proceeding in normal fashion. There is nothing for you to worry about except creating some content. :)

I know about what will be in the address bar. But I was under the impression that Whether they type in sirhappiness.com or sirhappiness.wordpress.com that it would take them to the wordpress blog that I already have. But it’s just taking me to the website i had on sirhappiness.com before I bought the mapping update. When it’s all said and done am I going to be able to keep my wordpress blog and edit it and everything just like I have been at sirhappiness.wordpress.com? Like the wordpress format and everything just without the .wordpress.com? Because when you said create some content it kind of worries me! haha

@sirhappiness, it takes some time for the domain mapping to take effect. This is something that is totally out of your control, or the control of wordpress. It simply takes time for the domain mapping change to make it through all of the internet domain name servers – and there are literally thousands of them that have to be updated with the new information. Also, each and every day, hundreds of thousands of new domains are registered and each and everyone of those has to make it through the internet DNS system.
In general, it can take 24-72 hours for a propagation to complete although it is typically around 24.
Once all that is done, if they type in the wordpress.COM URL for your blog, they will automatically be directed to the new domain name. If they type in the new domain name, that is where they will go. Either will take them to your blog and the new domain name will be reflected in the address bar of their browser.
