Getting Old Posts/Pages: Not as Easy as it Sounds…
-
Hi! OK…Here is my issue. I started a blog 4 years ago at http://www.kiddosandpups.com. I had to let the domain expire due to family emergencies about a year or so ago. I had it hosted through Dreamhost. They no longer have the database, and my backups are not working. It says they are missing wxr files. (I think that is what it is called…). Anyway, they have transferred all the content data to my new domain, http://www.kiddosandpups.net, and I can see all my old plug-ins, themes, etc., but not my old posts or pages.
When I go to wordpress.com, I am able to see all of my old posts, pages, comments, followers, etc., but I cannot access them because someone bought up my old domain and is now extorting me on the marketplace…they want $600 for a Mommy Blog domain! No way…but I cannot access the admin panels in wordpress.com, wordpress.org, or in dreamhost, ftp, or phpMyAdmin.
I know there is a way to get my content back through an rss feed, plug-in, magic, wishes…something! Does anyone have any idea what I need to do? Thank you!
