Getting our cancelled domain back

How much would it cost to get our cancelled domain of initiativeprograms.org back and how long is it off the market?

    Hello @initiativeprogramsofficial,

I see your domain url is pointed to WordPress.com servers. Which suggests you have registered initiativeprograms.org domain with WordPress.com. Which in simple words means you are in the right place for your query. Yay!

Upon searching for your domain status on ICANN Lookup, the domain is under the following status codes :
    clientTransferProhibited
    serverTransferProhibited
    addPeriod

Upon reading up on what each of these status codes mean, the “add period” status suggests, I quote from ICANN LOOKUP ,
“This grace period is provided after the initial registration of a domain name. If the registrar deletes the domain name during this period, the registry may provide credit to the registrar for the cost of the registration.”

Looks like with a staff member helping you go through a few steps, you can get your domain name back.

I will add the modlook tag to this thread to bring in an expert to hep you further.

    POINTERS:

Your domain name is still available. No problems there. Just be patient until a staff member gets in touch with you and hopefully your domain will be yours again in no time.

    Hope this was of help.

  • Ah, for some reason the modlook tag didn’t come through, but we can still help.

    @initiativeprogramsofficial

When you cancel a new domain it will go into holding for a bit. Please let us know which of these options works best for you:

Wait: You can wait about five days for the domain to be released. So long as no one else buys it before you do, you can purchase it again here or with another provider.

Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice and restore the domain. You’ll be able to point it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.

Repurchase a Plan: To host your site here after all, buy a plan, skip the domain option, then update us here.

Let us know as soon as you can. Cheers!
