Getting posts to show up on pages
-
Hello! I’m new to creating websites, and I’m hoping you can help! I am trying to configure my site so that posts that I tag appropriately will appear under specific pages I have created. Any suggestions? For example, if I created top level menus with drop down child menus, and when I write a post, I want the posts to show up in the appropriate child menu page, how do I do that?
Thanks! -
Hi @mishaboy,
In order to do that, you need to create a Custom Menu, then add the pages related to the chosen tags or categories.
Please note 2 details:
– Your posts are all going to appear in the main blog page. You cannot decide what to display and what not in this page.
– The pages where the specific tagged posts are going to appear are the Archive type pages. You can’t create ie the page “Trains” and expect that all the posts tagged as ‘Trains’ appear there. You can instead display a tag archive page called “Trains” that you can place in the menu as main or sub element.
This is a slight difference but important to highlight so you won’t create page to bin. Every time you create a tag, the system generates a rand new archive page for that, so you don’t need to create any further pages.I hope this answers your question. If you have any further doubts, just ask :)
