Getting rid of ads on Blog, BUT, not wanting a wedsite, which I already have.

What plan do I need to get to simply not have ads appear on my blog page. I already have a website etc so I dont need that service. Regards, Ron .

Hi there,
All our paid plans allow you to hide the ads. So, you can go with the Personal plan which is the most affordable one.
If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Thanks, that did the trick. I would like to get rid of the wordpress.com aspect of my blog which is linked to on my sites FAQ page. But it doesnt seem possible from what I am reading. Is it as far as you know ? the site is http://www.yourcelebrant.com.au the blog, for ease of use, is wordpress and the read more part of the FAQ links to that. Any way around the wordpress.com “Tag” when it does ? Thanks, Ron.

Thanks that seems to have done the job. Now I would ideally like to try get rid of this part of the site listing: https://yourcelebrant.wordpress.com/ I use it, for ease of operation as part of my FAQ page (read more part) on http://www.yourcelebrant.com.au Is that doable ? If so how do I go about that ? Thanks for your help so far, it is much appreciated. Regards, Ron.

Hello there,
So just to check – do you wish to use the domain http://www.yourcelebrant.com.au for your WordPress.com blog instead of https://yourcelebrant.wordpress.com/ ?
If yes, you could map the domain as per these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ .
This would would mean that when you visit http://www.yourcelebrant.com.au – you would see the WordPress.com created site.
I hope this helps.

Hi Aleone89
It is NOT a ” WordPress” site.
It was built from scratch. Only the blog aspect of it I use wordpress…
Any suggestions with that in mind ?
Regards,
Ron.

Got it.
Regarding the site you built with WordPress, which is separate but linked, are you hoping to remove .wordpress.com from the address? If so, you might consider mapping a subdomain like https://faqs.yourcelebrant.com.au. That’s included with your plan:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/Or are you hoping to change the “blog at WordPress.com” in the footer? I want to say that’s a white-label option available with the Business Plan, but there are other options (a tiny WordPress logo is more subtle, for example) that are available with all plans. That’s available under Customize > Site Identity.

No the site was not built on WordPress. it is custom from scratch. (www.yourcelebrant.com.au) there is a FAQ section of site, that has some short answers on it but the “read more” links at the end of those answers links to a WordPress blog . I was hoping to drop the WordPress com. part of that URL. I hope that explains it better. If you take a quick look at the FAQ part you will likley see what I mean.

You won’t be able to direct the whole domain both here and to your self-hosted site. Domains themselves can only point at one server.
Instead, we recommend mapping subdomain, like
faqs.yourcelebrant.com.auto your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-subdomain/
