Getting rid of blog content in canard and having only the features image

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
I haven’t published any of my content but did look at it and revert back to draft.
On my preview the main page to my site had the content of my blog covering the feature image. I would prefer just to have the blog title and image.
How do I do this in Canard theme? Thanks
    Cherie

  • Hey there,

On my preview the main page to my site had the content of my blog covering the feature image. I would prefer just to have the blog title and image.

This sure is possible for your feature content like you can see in Canard’s demo.

If you want to add your posts to the featured content area, you can do so by:

    1. Navigate to Customize → Featured Content.
    2. Choose a word to use as your Featured Content tag and add it in the text field. We suggest using a lowercase, single word, like featured.
    3. Click the Publish button to save changes.
    4. For each post you’d like to feature, use the Tags & Categories area of the editor to add the tag you chose under Customize → Featured Content. With this theme, you can also tag pages to be displayed as Featured Content, in addition to posts.
    5. Add a featured image to each post or page you’re featuring.

If you want all posts to appear in exactly the same way like in the featured content area, that is not an option in this theme.

But canard sure provides different post formats like Standard, Image, Gallery and link.
If you choose the standard format, your post will excerpt will appear beside the featured image not covering your featured image.

You can change the post format through My Sites > Sites > Posts > Click “edit” under the post you’d like to change. On the post editing screen, select a different format from the Post Formats module, then click Update to update the post.

You can give it a try and check how it looks!

Also, you can check the theme’s overview page to know about the features it offers.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

Yeah I have all of that. Steps one through 5. Tick but that’s not make the text disappear from the images on site main page.

    Thanks

  • Hey again,

Are you using the same featured tag in Customize → Featured Content as well as in the post’s tags?
You have to use exactly the same tag that you used in the featured content. This will make your post appear in the featured content area.

Still I am going to bring this to staff’s attention so that they can check what’s going wrong there.

Please wait while a member from the staff responds.

    Thanks!
