getting rid of category archive on free theme

hi i have set up my category pages but at the top it says category archive. how do i remove this on the free theme. i have tried all the options i have found but cant seem to get rid of it. its the ryu theme. thank you

Hi there – There’s not a way to remove or hide it on the free plan, unfortunately.
However…
There is a free alternative that will work. If you are familiar with Blocks, have you seen or used this block yet? https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/blog-posts-block/
The Blog Posts block allows you to bring posts of any category (and lots of other things) into a page or post wherever you would like.
In short, you could create a new page “Reviews” and add this block to that page. Then tell that block to display posts from the Category “Reviews” and then how many posts to display and how to display them. Pretty cool!
That would effectively bring the posts to the page without having the “Category Archives: Reviews” at the top.
Lastly, you would need to update the menu item at the top of your site for “Review” to point to the new page (instead of the Category).
Try that and let us know if that doesn’t help you get this done the way you would like. :)
