Getting rid of header widget

    Hi–I’m sure this topic is covered somewhere and I am sorry to waste everyone’s time! However, I just can’t get this figured out. I want side widgets on my site not a header widget. I can’t figure out how to get rid of the header! I tried going into Appearance–>menu structure because I thought there would be a box there under ‘theme locations’ I could uncheck, but there isn’t.
