Getting rid of “Hey there!” text?

This is probably addressed about 100 different places, none of which are showing up under queries..
Using the theme “Motion”, how do I modify or eliminate the “Hey there! Thanks for dropping by *****! Take a look around and grab the RSS feed to stay updated. See you around!” It appears at the top right of my blog. I don’t mind the message in principle, but the text is really not my style…
I have found mention of covering this with an image or blank text, but I’ve tried using various widgets but nothing is showing up on that sidebar

Hurray! I’d been trying to do that with the “sidebar” option, to no avail. For reasons not made clear, “Header” widget box appears at the end of the list, and had scrolled off my page….
