getting rid of "leave a comment" field
-
Hello, I’m creating a website using the twenty ten theme of wordpress.com. Below every page there appears a “leave a comment field”. So far I have not managed to get rid of it. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello prcoach,
Open in your dashboard a page. There is that option Allow Reactions. Click on it to remove that v and do that for every page.

Thank you Ruud, I’ve done that (in the settings menu, item “discussion”) but the field doesn’t disappear

@prcoach
There are two aspects here. Not allowing comments and not displaying the “leave a comment” wording. The main page for comment set up is the Discussion which has default settings. Not allowing comments on any post or page by disabling them on each post and page overirdes the deafult setting on the Discussion page.You cannot get rid of the display of the “leave a comment” wording without purchasing an annually renewable CSS editing upgrade and doing the work yourself. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.
Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and only 2 Volunteers help with CSS, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.
If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.
