Getting rid of sidebar two

  Was trying to redesign my page. Went through the preview, and all looked fine, but after activating my new theme (Publication), it gave me an extra sidebar. I tried to remove Sidebar Two but it still comes up, even if there are no widgets. Why would I want a page that is 70% sidebar? Please help.

  With the second sidebar being empty, it will still take up that space, so indeed, you’ll have an empty second sidebar — it’s simply just how the theme works (though you’ll only see that empty space on screens larger than 1272 pixels wide).

  If you have any of the paid plans on WordPress.com, it will give you the option to change the CSS code on your page, and with that, you can make the entire sidebar hidden and use the available space for the main content and first sidebar.
