Getting Rid of “Site Previews” Permenantly

    Howdy. I (along with most experienced web users) find “site preview” popups incredibly annoying. Plus they’re one more pile of code to slow the site down.

    It looks like the only way to turn them off on wordpress.com sites is to click the the link on the popup itself. But that only helps individuals, it does not help new readers. I think it’s borderline irresponsible to give novice web users the idea that popups like that are a good idea. The last thing we need are people actually wanting things like that!

    Suggestion – make popups OFF by default. Give the blog owner the option to turn them off if he/she actually wants them.

    You can turn them off for your entire site under Appearance->Extras.
