getting rid of spam followers (e.g., mortgage lenders)
-
Lately I’ve been getting mortgage lenders following our blog, and WordSisters has nothing to do with finance. I’m worried that they’re a form of spam or looking for a way to plant a virus. Can I block them? How?

The wordpress.com platform has a very high security, so your spam followers can’t just plant a virus on your site.
You can’t block them but you can remove those followers, https://en.support.wordpress.com/followers/#how-to-remove-a-follower -
I removed the mortgage lender followers yesterday, and now they’re back. Here’s the list so far, in case you want to keep an eye on them or if others have this issue. Still concerned — somebody’s got a spam problem — maybe it’s the lenders, although I couldn’t find websites for the first two lenders.
