Since you, and others who might be logged into wordpress.COM, are the only ones that see it, I can’t help but wonder why you would want to get rid of it. Regular visitors who do not have a wordpress.COM account, or are not logged into their account if they have one, never see the bar.

For myself, when I’m logged in and visiting wordpress.COM blogs, I like having it up there since it gives me a quick way to get back to my own dashboard.

In essence, when you hide the admin bar on your blog, you are actually hiding a logged in visitor’s ownadmin bar away. In other words, you aren’t only getting rid of your admin bar, but also the admin bar of every visitor to your blog that happens to be logged into their own wordpress.COM account.

That said, there are people who have hidden it, but I do not know how to do it.

oddly enough, when I go to your site I do not see the admin bar… is there a reason for why it wouldn’t be showing?

The site linked to my username is a self-hosted blog.
