Getting rid of type on my home page

  I’m new to wordpress and the menus are pretty dense.
  I can’t seem to find a way back to the area where I put a ‘welcome’ message on my homepage.
  Right now it reads in small letter:
  Welcome to Mandingeiros dos Palmares in Jamaica Plain, Ma
  And in (really) large letters:
  Monitor Leopardo has begun teaching classes here in Jamaica Plain as of February 2011 Hope to see you in the roda!

  I’d like to get rid of this but can’t for the life of me find WHERE I change it…
  Help!
