Getting rid of…imgres spam.

You have more important things to do, but I wonder if all bloggers are having a lot of bogus views like I am, which refer to images which are no longer anywhere on my blog. They seem to originate from different countries, but all the searches seem to come from addresses that end in imgres.com or some such thing. 80 percent of my views are coming from this now, and of course it’s annoying to have false visits. Thanks for your time.

Sounds like your images got hotlinked to another site, either that or you’re just seeing the results of image searches. Those are not bogus views.

…which refer to images which are no longer anywhere on my blog…

Have you deleted those images from your library?

Thank you so much, both of you. I don’t do much with wordpress except read blogs and write blogs, so wasn’t aware of, or had forgotten about, the library function. I had deleted the blog with those photos yesterday and still had lots of searches for these photos, but today none, and now I have gotten rid of them from my library also. I guess I call them bogus if the search terms are 2 apiece from several different countries on several days in a row, and no one is actually going to the particular post that they originated from, just going to my homepage (supposedly). That’s what led me to believe it was spammish in nature. Anyway, thank you both, and it’s resolved as far as I’m concerned.
