  Hi there,
  Just a couple questions. I am looking to set up a wordpress website for my business and I am evaluating the word press packages and what it offers. is there any kind of free trial so I can poke around and see what its like before paying? Also, if I begin to build something with the free plan, or basic plan, and later want to upgrade, will I need to start from scratch? or will my content carry over? thanks!

  Here are the different Plans with WordPress.com, the plans explain provide various options, you can have a look at the features and decide what suits you best. If you can provide more details of your Business and the features you expect from your website we can recommend you accordingly.
  There is 30 days Refund policy. So you can subscribe to any plan and decide if you are comfortable with it. But you need to pay completely initially if you are not satisfied you can get a complete refund.

  You can switch your plans anytime, you just need to go to Dashboard–> Store –> My Upgrades

  Yes, you content will be carried over.

  Sorry, WordPress does not offer “free trials” of the different plans, so the short answer is no.

  BUT!
  As you are aware, the Free plan is just that – free! You can start a site, see what WordPress can do for you as far as building the site, including many of the features, and poke around many of the various themes to find one that matches both your needs and your vision for the site.

  If you decide you like what you can do with the basic features of WordPress, then you can Upgrade to the plan that best suits your needs

  When you Upgrade your plan, you are simply paying for additional features. Your site will remain the same as it was, so you do not start from scratch!
