  Hi there, I’m writing on behalf of a small non-profit organization. After extensive research, we plan to purchase the Born to Give charity theme (https://themeforest.net/item/born-to-give-charity-crowdfunding-responsive-wordpress-theme/15709244) as we feel it will meet our event management and donation needs.

  I’m just confused as to which plan we should purchase, as well as how support works when purchasing an external WP theme.

  In order to use a third party theme with WordPress.com, you’ll need to purchase the Business Plan Upgrade. For more information on what that particular upgrade provides, please visit our plan page:

  how support works when purchasing an external WP theme.

  You can always come to us if you have issues with your site. With the business plan, you’ll have access to live chat support where a Happiness Engineer would be more than happy to assist you.

  If it is a theme related issue, I would contact the developer at Theme Forest for assistance – for if there are any bug related issues with the theme, they’d be able to fix it. However, feel free to touch base with us as well and we can see what we can do to help with the issue as well, if possible.

  Thanks for the advice. So would you recommend using an in-house WordPress theme instead?

  I just have a couple questions if I were to go with Maisha instead:

  Would I still need to purchase the Business plan?
  Can I add the Event Management plug in?
  Can I change the colour of the theme?
  Does the donate button/plugin work with paypal?

  If you do not want to purchase the business theme, I would definitely consider the hundreds of themes that are offered through http://wordpress.com/themes. There very well could be a similar theme to the one you found on theme forest that would work for you.

  Otherwise, the Business Theme would allow you to use the Crowdfunding theme for your site.
