  I have an established website that my son built for our business. I have the ID and password, but cannot find how to get into the WordPress administration to update WordPress and make changes on the website.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  When you’re logged in into your account, you’ll see the tab My Sites on the upper left-hand corner. If you click on that it will take you to your dashboard where you can start editing your site, and add content. If you have more than one site you’ll need to select the one you want to work on by clicking Switch Site.

  Hi there, is mountainvalleyba.wordpress.com the site you need help with? It is empty of all user created content.

  The functioning website is http://www.mountainvalleyba.org since we had access to that domain name as well. It allowed him to build it without affecting the existing site at the time.

  Hello again @mvbadom1971 Thanks for providing that additional information.

  The site you refer to mountainvalleyba.org isn’t hosted here on WordPressdotcom, but with a company called Savvis and it is using the standalone WP software. To enter the Admin area of your site add /wp-admin/ to the end of your site address, so http://mountainvalleyba.org/wp-admin/ If your site is connected to WordPressdotcom through the Jetpack plugin, you can follow the instructions that @taniametalli gave you above.

  WordPress comes in 2 flavors: the fully hosted WordPressdotcom (where we are ) and the open source WP (org) project at https://wordpress.org This support guide explains some of the differences between them: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  You can find all the support information for sites using the WP (org) software at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page and ask for assistance at https://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums, you can register one on that page.
