  I have always helped my friends/clients build and maintain their sites with wordpress but I have never set it up. My client registered her new domain through Go Daddy and sent me the credentials for that.
  She currently has a wordpress site but this will be a new one.
  How do I get this new one started

  Hi there, you don’t mention whether this site will be hosted here on WordPressdotcom (the hosted platform) or with the open source WordPress software installed on a 3rd party web hosting provider, like GoDaddy.   If the site is to be built here on WordPressdotcom, you can register a new site under the account you are currently logged in to by following the instructions on this page https://en.support.wordpress.com/create-a-blog/#adding-a-new-site-or-blog-to-an-existing-account

  In order to be able to map that custom domain here, you’ll need to upgrade the site once it’s been registered. Here’s more on upgrade plans and what they include: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  If your site is going to be built with the open source WordPress software with GoDaddy hosting, you’ll want to head over to the support docs and forums for assistance with that software at https://wordpress.org/support/ and/or contact GoDaddy directly for support.
