  Hey guys ^^
  My name is Mike and I have a few questions.

  I already own a domain (michaelgildner.com) and I just wanted to get started to build a website here.

  I don’t want to transfer my domain right away as I wanted to tinker here a little bit first to see if I like it here. I’m a little bit scared what happens if I click to Mapp my domain with WordPress.

  Also is it possible to switch over at a later point so you guys host everything with my domain?

  Hi there,

  That is not a problem- what you could do is create a site with a free WordPress.com blog address. You are assigned a .wordpress.com or a .home.blog subdomain whenever you create a site with WordPress.com, so you can just use that as the domain as you build the site and determine whether or not this is the platform you want to use. Once you are done developing the site, you can make the decision to transfer the domain over:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

  map and existing domain:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Or even creating a new one:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/
