  I am trying to set up my blog, WP is telling me ‘first lets set up your domain and giving 2 options that cost money’ and to transfer my domain. I wish to play a little with the interface and see if I like it and if it works for me and only then move my domain. Also, everyone is telling me that WP hosting is free, I don’t care much about the domain name at the moment. How do I skip that part and move to the building part?

  Hi @annieber,

  You can skip that part by just selecting the free domain that comes up when you enter the domain name. It would be something like:

  example.wordpress.com

  Just select that and then proceed.

  On the next step, you would be asked to choose a plan. Here also you have to choose a very first link at the top which says “Start with a free site”.

  Once that is done you just need to do one last thing to launch a site. Log in to the email that is associated with your WordPress account. There you will notice a confirmation email from WordPress. You have to click the confirmation link to launch your site and make it public from the private visibility.
