  I was encouraged to start with wordpress, but I’m confused. I’m a photographer of 20+ years and never had a website. All I want is something to showcase some of my work and something as a networking tool. I’m a fulltime student (B.A. Marketing) so I’m not trying to sell my work. I guess an online portfolio is more what I desire, and then build from there. Any ideas to get me started?

  Biggest mistake made by photographers is to put massive images in their site – loads slow and burns through your 3GB of free storage in a hurry.

  make a couple of posts with a few pictures to get the feel for how things work – the basics are not too bad

  Thank you, sounds resonable. One more thing please, will this be available 24 hours a day? Like I said, it’s more of an online potfolio, short Bio and so forth. Thanks again!

  all sites here are online 24/7 – there is a staff that is dedicated to making sure making sure your blog is available – that is the same staff by the way that keeps such minor sites as part of CNN.com up and running – so you are in good company
