Getting Started and Restoring a Site

  Hi I used to have a wordpress.org blog but stopped paying for the domain. I am currently setting up a wordpress.com blog, or I have set up the account for it. My question is can I restore my old blog domain if I set it up on .org again or use it on wordpress.com? I am trying to keep the costs down but do want a customised and private blog. Any help would be appreciated

  Hi Liz,

  The domain you want to restore was purchased from another registrar than WrodPress.com. So you need to contact with the same registrar for domain name availability.

  Then you can either have a website on .org or map domain on WordPress.com

  OK thanks for that. I will see if I can track down the registrar details and restore it. Any thoughts about whether wordpress.com or .org is best to set up with?
