Getting started/ Site replication/ Themes and understanding
-
Hi, I am a Squarespace web designer and am currently building a site for a customer. Originally I made the home page design which he approved in squarespace as usual, although for a specific reason Squarespace wont be adequate for the sites needs. This is a size/ price calculator, which squarespace cant do as there and no plug ins/ apps.
So, I started a wordpress account to try and replicate what I had already built. After a painstaking few days of trying to learn wordpress, I havent been able to get to grips with it and am having a very difficult time attempting to rebuild the homepage.
I can not work out weather to use a “page builder” or not, what theme to use or weather to start from blank and the overall design aspect is different to what im familiar with.
If somebody who is experience with WordPress could give me a hand, Ideally somebody who can hop in a screen share call and talk me though getting started, If you require an hourly rate that is okay.
The site I am rebuilding is this https://madetomeasure.squarespace.com/

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
While we wouldn’t be able to set up a screen share or call, we do have a great course for Getting Started that walks you through the basics of WordPress here: https://wordpress.com/learn/courses/getting-started/
We can also assist you 1:1 through our live-chat service which is available on supported hosting plans. We can help walk you through any WordPress.com features you are having trouble with such as page design:
Our live chat support, included in eligible plans, connects you with our Happiness Engineers to help you with any aspect of WordPress.com. This guide will show you how to reach live chat and make the most of your support experience. How to Access Live Chat Support To contact WordPress.com support via live chat, take the following steps: Visit your website’s dashboard. Click the quFor this site, I would recommend selecting a similar-looking theme that supports Site Editing, this would allow you to edit the page templates directly so you can get the site as close to the original design as possible. You can find Site Editor compatible themes here.
If you have any specific questions or issues you are running into we can also provide instructions or steps for how to make those changes here on the forums!
Hope this helps, and let us know if you have any additional questions!
