Getting The Cue Player To Appear At The Page Preview Image In Social Media Posts

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve set up my online store. However, when I post links to product pages that have a cue player on them, the page preview image you see on the post is a static image of the product. With a third party music site such as Bandcamp, this page preview image in the post is the player itself, so the music can be played immediately without being redirected to the page and having to click on the player. Is there any way to do this with my website?

This is the product I’m most interesting in doing this for https://samjefferson.com/product/sing-beneath-the-sun-cd-booklet-of-photographs-stories-pre-orders/ but really if I could do this for every product in my online store it would be great!

    Best wishes and thanks,

    Sam

  • Hi there,

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software. We cannot help with this in the WordPress.com forums.

What social media services like Facebook display in previews for your site is controlled by something called Open Graph tags. Those can be added by an SEO plugin, by your theme, or by a separate open graph plugin, so this would depend on which of those you are using.

Please contact support directly for whichever plugin you’re using for open graph tags, or you can ask in the self-hosted WordPress forums instead if you’re not sure:
