    I’d like to suggest that you use an HTML table to display the images. Creating an HTML table is easy. See > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/03/24/align-images-html-tables-for-wordpress-blogs/

    This page …

    http://alexwhitmer.wordpress.com/my-film-credits-2010/

    ‘Bout half way down you’ll a single thumbnail, but I’m trying to get three side by side.

    Used to be easy, now it seems complicated. ??

    K, I’m reading the link too – as I’m Dylexic, we’ll see if I can figure it out.

    Thanks guys,

    It used to be the cursor would be next to the thumb nail after uploading, and I could tap a few spaces right and add another photo, or tap down and put one under. Now it’s automatically aligned under the thumb /photo, and if I try to move it up, it deletes the thumb /photo.

    This is the structure for an HTML table that displays three thumbnail images side by side and has their captions beneath them.

    <table border="1">
    <tr>
    <td>IMAGE1URL</td>
    <td>IMAGE2URL</td>
    <td>IMAGE3URL</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>IMAGE1CAPTION</td>
    <td>IMAGE2CAPTION</td>
    <td>IMAGE3CAPTION</td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    If you wish to use the code above copy and paste the code into the HTML editor in your post.
    Upload the 3 individual thumbnail size images into the table cells where it says “IMAGE1_URL” , “IMAGE2_URL” “IMAGE3_URL” but do not create captions when you upload the images. Complete the ALT text and Description fields only.
    Type your 3 individual captions into the table says where it says “IMAGE1CAPTION”.
    IMAGE2CAPTION”, and “IMAGE3CAPTION”.
    Publish the post.

    The alignment icons in the editor are for aligning text. and clicking text alignment icons in the WordPress Visual editor to align images and when there is no text or very little text the result will not be an attractive and organized multiple image display in your WordPress blog.

    Also do not rely on the image uploader for resizing images. Presize your images offline first to the exact size required and then upload them. That will maintain the quality of the images.

    That got super weird …

    http://alexwhitmer.wordpress.com/my-film-credits-2010/

    Put them at the bottom and then posted all my pages.

    I think I might give up until I can get someone here to show me. Again, instructions are complicated for me. Darn. It used to be so easy. I did it many times no issues.

    Thank you again.

    a) To correct the weirdness, go to Settings>Writing and enable the option “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically”.

    b) The way you described in your 3:02 AM post is quite ok: just make sure you set the alignment of the first and second thumbnails to Left before inserting them, and the alignment of the third thumbnail to None.

    I’m not an expert by any means, but I do know of a way of achieving the look you’re going for…??
    Have a look here:
    http://shesboxingclever.wordpress.com/2010/02/02/recent-make-ables-for-december-and-january/
    You will see several images, side by side in my post. Is this what you’re trying to accomplish with thumbnails?
    If so, what I did was upload the photos I wished to use all at once, edited the *title* of each pic to show a caption when a reader hovers over the photo with their cursor, and then placed the entire GALLERY into the post, rather than individual pics. Depending on your theme, you can dictate how many columns are used for side by side posting of thumbnails.

    Don’t know if that’ll help, but it can’t hurt to try.

    I forgot to add that you can insert more then one gallery, with text in between, to break up the post, but if I remember correctly, you need to save a draft, then launch the media uploader again to begin a new gallery to insert.

    Excellent option, let me try that. I’m just such a knuckle head when it comes to any tech instructions.

    Thank you
