Getting "Too many signups from network" error
-
Hi,
I’m a teacher, trying to sign my students up as authors to contribute to our class blog: footprintsbooks.wordpress.com but when we try to sign up, we get the message telling us that there are too many signups coming from our network right now, and asking us to wait. Waiting is not letting us sign up. How can we get around this, or solve this issue?
Thank you.

Hi there. I’ve tagged this for staff so they can look into this issue for you, but it sounds like either a spam prevention feature or otherwise a security feature to prevent brute force attacks. Staff will be able to tell you the best way to resolve this.

Please don’t hijack existing threads with unrelated problems. That said, clearing your browser’s cookies should fix this. If the issue persists, please start your own thread and add the “modlook” tag to tag it for staff. http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

Hi @teacherdrew, I’ll look into this for you. What is your IP address that your students will be using to sign up? When do you anticipate your class members will try signing up again and for how long? If you’ll send that I’ll dig around and see if there’s anything we can do.
Alternatively, you may also have them sign up from home, then work on the sites during class.

I’m going to go ahead and move this to a support ticket so we can get some of the new usernames and what not. You’ll see our email shortly. Cheers!
