Ghost email follower lists (Jetpack, maybe?)

  • Unknown's avatar

When I first moved to .ORG I used Jetpack to migrate my followers to email.

Now that I am back on .COM, is there any way to access this list (and migrate it back), especially since I already closed my hosting account a few days ago?

My problem is that when I put up my sidebar widgets it says I have 53 followers via email. But on the back end, there is no email list. Where can I find this list of 53 ?

I am on the .COM premium account.
    Thanks.

  • Hi there,

The follower count shown in the widget is the total follower count for your site, not just email followers, and also includes followers via connected social media accounts.

If I look at your site’s stats, it shows 5 WordPress.com followers and 48 Facebook followers, which gives the total of 53.

What was the URL of your Jetpack site? As it’s no longer online and also not connected to your account I don’t think it will be possible to transfer followers from it, but if you give me the URL it had used I can see if it might still be saved in our system.

Ah, thank you so much for trying to help. :)

I didn’t know there were URLs for Jetpack, as I thought it was just a plug in. What would the URL look like? It may jog my memory.

Also, I just realized that that particular FB account, and page has been closed and deleted. Would you happen to know if those email address would still even be valid?

If not, is there any way just to wipe those 48 FB followers clean? But I suppose if they are still showing up they are still valid.

  • By URL I mean the link you used to visit that site. Jetpack is just a plugin, but it’s a plugin you had installed on a website. What was the URL of that site?

is there any way just to wipe those 48 FB followers clean?

Go to My Sites ->Sharing. If you see a Facebook connection there, disconnect it. That should break the connection with the old Facebook page/account, and the followers should disappear from your stats.

It worked! Thank you so much. This is resolved. :)
