GHOST LEFT SIDE WIDGET
-
Hi Guys,
I have all my widgets on my footer. I have zero widgets on the left side, and still when you go to this page, you see ARCHIVES on the right:

How do I remove this ghost widget, and make the bottom widgets show up? I’ve tried setting the page to pretty much everything but only HOME seems to clear that row and show my footer widgets. Problem is, I don’t want that page as home, because I need the text centralized and not on the left…What do I do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I also can’t remove this bloody widget from my blog page, even though I set it to no “no sidepage”…-_-

Have you consulted the detailed theme description page here https://wordpress.com/themes/responsive/?
Have you used the customizer?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/Home Widget Area:
There are three available widget areas under the content block in the Home template which can be customized in Appearance → Widgets.

Yes and yes. And it’s hard to set the widget up because I can’t exactly see it in my dashboard or the customizer. They don’t address that in the theme description page. The widget just shows up on the page and I can’t remove it because it doesn’t show up on widgets or customizer….

Not sure if it’ something to the theme, but I should at least be able to find the widget somewhere…
-
All widgets are at > Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets
http://cswilde.com/wp-admin/widgets.php
Are you clear on widget visibility settings? Widgets can be configured to appear only on certain pages (or be hidden on certain pages) by clicking on the Visibility button.
-
Yup. The widget simply does not show anywhere on my dashboard or the customizer, and it should right? But it doesn’t.
And when I click edit in the customizer (on the preview window) nothing happens. -
What I meant is the edit button that shows up when I hover the mouse over the widget on the preview. Bcs on the options it simply doesn’t show up at all.

That’s what I thought, but there’s no such default widget listed in the theme description : (

Hello C.S. Wilde!
The “In Archive” widget is a default widget that is shown when you don’t have any set up on your themes Main Sidebar widget area.
You can hide that widget adding another widget you like. Or you can hide it using the custom CSS below:
.blog #widgets, .single #widgets { display: none; }But, since your theme is designed to have sidebar widgets, if you hide with CSS it will show a blank sidebar.
Here is more information about Custom CSS:

And if you need more support with CSS, you can use our CSS forum at:

Oh that’s great to know! It worked fine :)
And if I want to remove that widget from other pages, how should I proceed?
Thank you so much!
-
C.S. Wilde, I saw that you have set a widget on the Main Sidebar, it will show in all pages that have the widget area.
I’m not sure if I understood your question. Could you send me a link to a page where you don’t want to see the widget?
