‘Ghost’ Site

  I have a WP site hosted at GoDaddy, but apparently I still have a site on WP, as well. I honestly had no idea it was still active until it popped up in a search. The WP site has not been touched since 2015. I think I was still getting the hang of WP at that time and I must have kept it inadvertently.

  I would like to completely delete the WP site. I know I can do that myself, but I want to make absolutely certain that deleting my inactive WP site does not have an effect on the GoDaddy hosted site. Is this just a matter of hitting ‘Delete Site’ on the WP site?

  Hi there,

  The two sites have absolutely nothing to do with each other – your site at GoDaddy is built using the open source WordPress.org software, which is not the same thing as WordPress.com, a private hosting company like GoDaddy, and we have no access to your site on GoDaddy’s servers.

  So it’s completely safe to delete your WordPress.com site if you no longer want it :)
