GIFs appear as posts of their own

In this post there are four Word.docs and four GIFs.
All four GIFs open up as posts of their own and two of them are now even included as “top posts”.
This morning I tried to change that by fixing the HTML of one of them, but that failed. I tried reloading from the Media Library, and again its opened as a post of its own. So I put the original code back in.
Next I downloaded one of those GIFs to my computer and sent it back up to see whether it would now appear as a picture, but there it is again as a post of its own.
Yesterday there was the same trouble uploading the Word docs, but I was able to fix that by repeating the uploads, except in one case (“Bill Clover”) where a Word doc also opens up as a post of its own.
The faulty code looks like that:
<img class=”alignnone size-medium wp-image-3772″ title=”bill clover” src=”http://cantueso.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/bill-clover1.gif?w=300″ alt=”bill clover” width=”101″ height=”89″ />The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

!!! Did the system correct my copypaste?
The faulty code looks like that:
<img class=”alignnone size-medium wp-image-3772″ title=”bill clover” src=”http://cantueso.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/bill-clover1.gif?w=300″ alt=”bill clover” width=”101″ height=”89″ /> -
Incredible! I can’t copy the faulty code! The faulty code begins with “rel” and then “attachment” and two lines more and only then starts with “img class”.
In other words, the system does correct my copypaste and I can’t report the mistake.

You can’t paste it in here without framing it in backticks, those little marks like an apostrophe that are usually on the same key as the ~. You put Backtick, all your code, Backtick, and that makes it display entirely. Try that.

I found the mistake, raincoaster! Just now.
I opened the draft version and I clicked on one of the pictures and where it says “URL” there was a long address which did not look strange, but even so I clicked on “link to image”, and it worked.
However, if you don’t mind, I’d like to learn how to paste with that “backtick” since in might come in handy another time. There is no little wave sign anywhere on my keyboard, but there is an apostrophe that I have never used, so let’s see:
-
Sorry, it does not work. Since I found the mistake, let’s quit. Thank you for trying to help. — I think that if you had put a “backtick” in your text and I copied it, it would probably work, but my apostrophes don’t. Maybe my keyboard is of an old kind.
-
No, NOT the apostrophe. The Backtick. It looks almost like an apostrophe, but is an entirely different key. Look around your keyboard and it should be there.
it makes things display like thisI set all my images to link to the page they came from, so I can give credit to the photographer/originator. But you can set it to link to FILE or link to PAGE as well.

The backtick is available for copying BELOW this post box. See:
Allowed markup: a blockquote code em strong ul ol li.
You can also put code in between backtick ( ` ) characters. -
<a rel="attachment wp-att-3772" href="http://cantueso.wordpress.com/2009/07/05/work-experience-certification/bill-clover-2/"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-3772" title="bill clover" src="http://cantueso.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/bill-clover1.gif?w=300" alt="bill clover" width="101" height="89" /></a>Let’s see. Maybe this is what I would have called “accent grave” which is used in French.
Below I try with my “accent grave”:<a rel="attachment wp-att-3772" href="http://cantueso.wordpress.com/2009/07/05/work-experience-certification/bill-clover-2/"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-3772" title="bill clover" src="http://cantueso.wordpress.com/files/2009/07/bill-clover1.gif?w=300" alt="bill clover" width="101" height="89" /></a> -

There you go! Now that you’ve solved the problem and mastered the backtick, do you still need some help? I’m about to head offline.
