Gifs not working

  Hi,

  I have searched all over Google for the answer, and have asked the question in the forums, but still no answers. My gifs that at one point worked in my posts, are now no longer working. It isn’t just on my computer, it’s on 3 different computers. I noticed late last night that they started working on my phone, but still not on the computer. I’m hoping you can help me find some answers as gifs are a part of my work.

  Hi Gwen,

  Please note that animated GIFs have to be inserted at exactly the same size as it was uploaded. If the image is 500px wide, and you insert it into the page at medium (300px) then it will not work.

  Please insert them at the original size, and it should work!

  Hi Grace,

  Thanks for your reply! They have been inserted exactly as they were uploaded, which is full size. The thing is, they did work. The whole not working thing is something new (and very frustrating!)

  I just checked and found that the GIFs in these posts were working:

  I found that the GIFs in these posts were resized and the dimensions were not the same as the original so they are not working:

  Please use the original dimension and they should work! I could not check the first post as you were in it editing.

  Hi Grace,

  That’s weird that the size was changed for them, as I haven’t done anything to them! Anyways, I have changed them to the full size. I, myself, still can’t see them working. I have no idea what happened from one day to the next!

  Hi Gwen,

  I found that they were still not the original size. You can do this by going into the posts to edit. While it may be animated in the post editor, when you publish it, it won’t work. When you hover over the GIF, click on it and there will be two icons on the upper left hand corner. Click on the mountain icon. Then click on “Advanced Settings” and make sure to click on “Original Size”. Click on Update at the bottom, and you should be set.

  I have already done that for the two posts that were not working. I have viewed them, and they are working!
