Girly Themes?
-
That was a cryptic suggestion…..I reckon a two tone “troublemaker” theme…..for the multi-sided female personality…..with hidden links which make your PC scream….to replicate those moments when the bloke pushes her buttons at the wrong time and gets a hairdryer in the face. lololololol maybe with an optional halo which can be set as a miniskirt or a halo in an icon.
T’was the quickest smartass response I could offer lolololol.

@dirkgently
As a former kick boxer ~ I kick ass very well.
Exactly what part of “shove off” do and you and the other self-selected wannbe corporate policy advisors not not comprehend? -
-
I hope dirkgently’s inappropriate, sexist and obscene comment is going to be deleted by the mods asap. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

@shadowartist
I hear you but unfortunately this thread has been hijacked. If you have found a theme that you do like you send you can send choice directly to Matt by using a feedback or by sending an email. -
Sorry for making a sarcastic response, maybe we need a sense of humor plug in at wordpress.com. Feel free to delete my “inappropriate” remarks if they are deemed so by people with a sense of humor.
As far as the thread being hijacked, I’d agree….it was supposed to be a suggestions thing, but sidetracked onto licensing issues since the themes being requested ain’t made by wordpress.
-
i could have spent a long, long time looking through those themes. But, i didn’t. Instead i present these for Matt’s consideration. In the time i spent on it, though, 10 more posts without any theme suggestions were added to this thread.
If anyone would like to comment on the aesthetics of these themes, please go right ahead. If anyone would like to discuss policy and the likelihood of Matt choosing any of these themes (or not), please don’t.
Oh, and not all of them are particularly girly. I just picked ones i thought were cool/pretty.
abstract green 1.0
beast blog 1.1
dipdolt red 1.0

He’s a busy guy. Maybe’s he’s gone looking for girly themes ;)
Weeds has been mentioned here before. I think it could work well if we were allowed to upload a custom background as well as a custom header. I’ve always liked the Rounded themes so it’s nice to see them in different colours. Of the others mentioned, Dipdolt Red is my favourite; it’s another one that would look good with a custom header, and they’ve used one of my favourite fonts for the headers. It looks like it’s using the strings from Classic as well (good for non-English bloggers). The big white box with the feed icon, however, I do not like.
-
Glued Ideas is nice, but i think Weeds gets my overall vote. The sidebar is clean with child pages and categories displaying correctly, and the overall feel is soft and comfy (like the chair).
-
Here’s another: Greenweek (you may have to click on the theme’s name in the sidebar to get the demo). There are a couple of niggly little things about it — I want to push down the entry box so it doesn’t overlap the lily, and I kind of wish the buttons were styled — but it gets bonus points for being girly without the use of pink.
-
Thanks wank but aside from the orange lilies in the header I don’t like Greenweek anywhere near as much as I like Glued Ideas Subtle-0391
I won’t take the time to detail the things I do not like about Greenweek. Suffice to say that that I’m now after a 3 column theme with both sidebars on the right. It must have a readable font size and I prefer Verdana. I prefer subtle green tones but not any babycrap green yellow shades like the one used on the sidebar on Greenweek. -

I’m posting three more for bloggers to look at
Sweet Touch
Cherry Blossom 1.0
Pinkseo 2.0The more useful part of this exercise for me has drawing out of myself based on my own blogging experience what I truly want in a theme:
(1) 3 columns – 2 sidebars on the right
(2) customizable header
(3) font size of no less than 10-11
(4) page templates for archives, authors and contact pages
(5) next and previous links at the bottom of each page
… to be cont’d … -
Um, I removed the “Matt is a sexist pig” tag. Gotta admit that I agree that we don’t have that many “girly” themes around here. Even commented on the thread over on the WPMu forums.
-
@drmike
I sincerely doubt that any of the bloggers here are well enough acquainted with Matt on a personal level to make the judgment that the tag you removed stated. IMO whatever led to the posting of that tag was not an ultruistic motivation.@everyone
I know that conflict deters input, but we waited for a whole year for this opportunity and there is no conflict now, so please don’t hesitate to make theme submissions if you any in mind. :) -
TT:
I really like Cherry Blossom. It’s simple and elegant. It doesn’t scream girly at me I would definitely consider it. :)
Sweet touch is very… pink. I don’t particularly care for it, but I’m sure it would appeal to some.
Pinkseo is very youthful. A lot of fun. I wouldn’t personally use it either. But I could see how it would appeal to some.
