Give admin access to author of company blog when original admin no longer there?
-
The original administrator of our company’s blog left a couple of years ago and now we’re trying to start up the blog again but only have author access because the original admin’s login info is long lost. We really don’t want to have to make a whole new blog and lose all the entries we have from years past. Is there any way to transfer admin rights to a blog author or to a new user?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please be keenly aware that your company does not own the blog and Staff cannot just hand it off to anyone and cannot change any user roles.
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and associated email address.
One can transfer blog ownership of any blog to another WordPress.COM username account and associated email address by making them an official user of the blog ie. an Admin first, and then using this process https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-wordpress-com-user-or-account

If you contact the blog’s owner then refer them to https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
