Give me access to the classic editor ASAP For MY Blog
-
New editor is a piece of [expletive redacted]. Give me access to the classic editor or I am leaving wordpress. My Theme, THE CHRONICLE THEME, has a 4 item featured option that allows me to upload 4 images to 4 post I either reblog or post myself. This is located below my slider bar on my blog and I paid good money for this theme. I love this theme, however since yesterday wordpress saw fit to change my editor from classic to this beep beep boop [expletive redacted].
You geniuses at wordpress replaced the classic editor replaced with this beep beeo boop piece of garbage editor and I have no way of using the 4 post featured option on the theme I paid for. When I reblog a post and wish to add that reblogged post to my blogs featured space beneath my slider, it does not any longer work.
I do NOT want your beep beep boop editor anywhere on my blog. I will remove my blog from this wordpress [expletive redacted] and take as many bloggers with me, who by the way hate you stuffing this new beep beep boop editor down their throats, if you do not restore my blog to the way it was on the 14th of April.
I am not interested i you making my blog experience worst than it already was. I can no longer use an important part of a theme option that I paid for because of you wordpress idiots.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Do a search for “classic editor” and find the several hundred places the workaround has already been posted.
-
If you leave [expletive redacted] alone I wouldn’t need a work around, how about you supply the work around link?
-
If you can read, I need the classic editor for editing a reblog, not the classic editor to publish a post I write.

Hi there.
You can continue to access your site’s WP Admin either via the link provided in the sidebar of the WordPress.com Dashboard or directly here:
https://mrmilitantnegro.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
To get to the classic editor, hover over Posts or Pages to the left in WP Admin and then either ‘Add New’ or choose to view ‘All Posts/Pages.’ We won’t be taking away access to WP Admin.
If you have any constructive criticism or feedback that would enable us to improve the new editor, we’re more than happy to listen. We’re actively working to make the blogging experience on WordPress.com the best it can be!

Forcing people to use the Blue Death Editor is not making the blogging experience better – had you left the ability to make the classic editor the default editor things would have been better – or being honest about the Blue Death editor that it is intended for tablets and mobile things and keeping it away from the PC thing and making it optional
Sorry this is not one that WordPress.COM is doing very well and is probably the worst thing along with the Cable TV upsell pricing bundles – and I say this as someone that has been here for some time and seen many not really tested well thing rolled out

It’s essential for Staff to respect the fact we bloggers are unhappy because we have been treated like BETA tester guinea pigs without our permission. We have endured being harassed by frequent, persistent, unannounced and unwelcome UI changes over the course of a whole year, all of which have made our blogging experience more difficult and less enjoyable. There is nothing in the Terms of Service nor the policies under it that indicate we s are to BETA testers and yet undeniably that’s what we are being treated as.
No self respecting adult I know will be happy to be treated like a mushroom that’s kept in the dark and then after going nuts trying to cope with a lame, bug ridden piece of crap, put up with being fed glib sh_t about improving an editor we do not want to use yet that is what has happened to us.
I shared my whole experience from anger to acceptance in the closed thread. I don’t doubt that over time there will be a viable new editor. However, we WordPress.COM bloggers are not a part of the open source lets get together yeah, yeah, yeah open source WordPress.ORG blogging community populated by unpaid community developers and that ought to be kept in mind. We WordPress.COM users expect and deserve to be treated in a professional manner and not the respectful rinky dink way we have been treated.
What I accept is that there is a lack of skilled leadership in management, and a lack of an experienced UI developer at the helm of the new UI team. The taste in my mouth is bitter and I’m the closest you can get to being a royally pissed off fan girl, who is still hanging in there.

Allow me to offer a suggestion with far fewer expletives than the previous posters: I would very much welcome the return of a link that would permit us to switch back and forth between the classic editor, and the new editor.
Unfortunately, as it stands, even when I do Admin -> All Posts -> Add new from the new drop-down menu, I am shunted to the new editor, and worse yet, when I am attempting to edit a post. Most of the adding of tags and posts happen moments after I’ve published (“Ah geez! I’ve forgotten to add my tags/categories!”)
I know that storing my preference in the user profile involves more work, so I’d be happy with setting the preference as a cookie, as I believe that it was done before and having to occasionally click on a “use classic editor” link.
I prefer the older editor because I can access hierarchical categories and have access to other admin menu items, which I often pop open in a new tab to do a job quickly.
Thank you to the team. As a WP developer (as well as a user) I think that WP is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
And sliced bread is pretty good. :)

I see that you located my post here http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com, commented on it and also reblogged it. Thank you. -
Hi @francisdroy:
I prefer the older editor because I can access hierarchical categories and have access to other admin menu items, which I often pop open in a new tab to do a job quickly.
I can definitely understand that getting to the options for managing categories is more convenient from the classic editor at the moment. The team hasn’t started work on introducing category management to the new interface just yet, but I can promise it’s on the radar.
If you’re used to popping links from WP Admin open in a new tab, maybe creating a bookmark in your browser for those specific links would help you to retain your workflow? We won’t be taking away access to WP Admin and direct links will still take you to areas within it.

WP,
So rude. Trying to write a new post is so frustrating. No doubt many are just content to post on FB and not put up with monopolists. You are asking for constructive criticism now? srsly?
Here, give me a check box on my Admin page, which says “Check if you want the Classic Editor!” Thats it!A

@mrmilitantnegro: I’m glad that @timethief’s article helped to answer your question about accessing the classic editor.
@arunshanbhag: I can assure you that my intent behind asking for constructive criticism wasn’t to be rude.
We really do care about WordPress.com and value the feedback we’re given. Feedback that we’ve received on the new editor over the last few months has been, and continues to be, compiled and sent to the development team behind it. With this in mind, I’d encourage anyone with feedback, bug reports, or feature requests to start a new forum thread with the ‘modlook’ and ‘new editor feedback’ tags.
