Give us back our W button
-
The T button is supposed to toggle off when I click it so I can paste MS Word text. It doesn’t. This is very frustrating. I woke up one morning and the W button was missing and I found pasting plain text was the default option – and now I can’t get rid of it. I compose my blogs in Word because I use a lot of links in my posts and they are much easier to create in Word and then cut and paste. I’m not a happy camper.

Hi there,
We have made changes to the Visual Editor, and the Paste as Word button has been removed as part of the updates to the TinyMCE toolbar.
Please see https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-paste-as-word-button-has-been-removed-from-the-visual-editor for more information.
For help using the new editor with Microsoft Word, please see http://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/

I have consulted all the links you mention and cleared my Firefox cache.
I still loose all my formatting (I’m mainly concerned about the links) when I try to cut and paste a document from MS Word.

I’m sorry to hear that. In our testing, pasting hyperlinks does work, though they may not show up as hyperlinks in your editor. Our developers are still looking into issues with the editor and there may be additional changes that will fix the pasting as Word issue. You might also try another browser, such as Chrome, to see if that works better for you.
