  Well, I have now spent 4 hours trying to start a blog, read all the pages as to “how to get started”, etc. but I don’t know how to get started! Why is there no templates? I have no clue as to what my set up looks like. I don’t even see the name of my URL, all I see is dashboard.wordpress.admin… or something like that. Will my URL be the same as my username?
  I was never prompted to put in my URL name. I get on this stupid dashboard and NOTHING ‘works” nothing clickable. I can get no layout. I have wasted 4 hours. I guess I will go to blogger. This must just be too high for me. THANKS (angry)

  It looks like you’ve chosen to register an account without a blog.

  In that case, you can register a new blog from https://en.wordpress.com/signup/ while logged in.

  Once you have a blog up and running, you can find your themes from the Appearance section of your blog’s Dashboard, or browse them in more detail at http://theme.wordpress.com/

  Since you’re just starting out, you might find http://learn.wordpress.com/ to be useful as well.
