giving contributors privileges

  What i mean by privileges is that when someone contributes to the site, if there a way to give them certain options regular people can’t get automatically when they are set as a contributor. A good example is with the vbulliten subscriber thing, where when you pay you automatically get certain things like other styles, more arcade time, and things like such.
